Description:

The conference is being held from 3-4 September at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa.  The Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort has an enviable reputation with world class resort facilities.

The Society’s 2010 Conference theme is Patient Safety: Who Cares?, highly topical given the continuing media, professional and public interest in the Patel case .  The health system and the issues of patient safety are never far from the headlines and as Dr Joanna Flynn outlined at our recent June Dinner, national registration and mandatory reporting for health practitioners has now came into effect.

Our highly regarded and experienced speakers will address the issues of patient safety including, “Does the current system work?  Who does it work for?  How do we make it better?"  Expect some stimulating and thought-provoking discussion during the afternoon Hypothetical session, Blame and Shame – Is it helpful?

The conference dinner on Friday evening will be very entertaining.  Dr Brett Robinson, CEO of Mondial Assistance Australia and former Wallaby will be the after dinner speaker.  Enjoy a lovely dinner, beautiful surroundings and listen to Dr Robinson's views on Achieving Excellence.

The executive committee looks forward to seeing you there.
