Expert Witness Directory

One of the valuable benefits of MLSQ Membership is being listed in the MLSQ Expert Witness Directory or having access to the Directory.  Medical members or associate members who are allied health practitioners and who wish to be consulted or contacted to write medico-legal reports, may register for inclusion in the Expert Witness Directory.

Similarly, Legal members who are seeking a medical or allied health specialist may request the names and contact details from the Secretariat.

The Directory includes areas of expertise and the following information:

  • Preferred type of medico-legal case: Medical Negligence, Disciplinary Matters/Hearings, Civil, Criminal, Coronial Inquiries, Workplace Injury/Workers Compensation, Family Law
  • Areas of special and/or research interest
  • Referral details such timeframes, languages spoken and willingness to discuss fee structure and to conference with referring lawyers before and after assessment.

Please note:

  • The Medico-Legal Society of Queensland Inc. is facilitating the Expert Witness Directory as a service to its members.  MLSQ does not guarantee a specialist’s availability nor quality of service.
  • The directory is maintained by the MLSQ secretariat and access will be via the secretariat.  Details will be updated on a regular basis.
  • If membership lapses, the member doctor or allied health practitioner’s details will be removed, or access by a lawyer will no longer be available.  If membership is subsequently renewed then details and access will be reinstated.
